The annual Khalsa Montessori Primary School pumpkin hunt and petting zoo was a huge success this year. We started the day with a few rain puddles and cloudy weather, but the sun came out a little later in the morning. Final year primary students were excited to hide pumpkins for the other classes and all the children enjoyed racing to find their very own pumpkin. Each class discussed ideas about what they might do with their pumpkin. Some were planning to make a pie and others decided they would carve their pumpkin. After gathering together to wait for the very last pumpkin to be found, each class made their way over to the petting zoo to make new friends. The children were able to feed the goats, pet the rabbits and hold the chickens. Many children even held the little baby chicks!
