The Primary & Kindergarten Program
The Khalsa Montessori Primary classroom environment provides a firm foundation for all future learning for Khalsa primary-age children.
Our Primary classrooms (The Children’s House) are meticulously crafted to foster an inviting and dynamic learning environment. They are filled with a diverse array of hands-on materials that span multiple subjects, including language arts, mathematics, sensory exploration, practical life skills, geography, cultural studies, and the wonders of science. Through engaging and interactive experiences with these materials, children build a robust understanding of essential concepts and ideas.

In addition to core subjects, our carefully designed weekly curriculum enhances the educational experience with enriching classes in Spanish, invigorating yoga sessions, and lively music and movement activities. These supplementary offerings support the holistic development of each child, ensuring they grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally.
Kindergarten
The culmination of our Primary cycle is the Kindergarten year, which serves as a vital component of our charter school. This program offers a half-day session from 12:15 PM to 3:00 PM, providing tuition-free education. For families seeking a full-day option, a morning session is available for a tuition fee.
Primary Extended Care
To accommodate the diverse needs of our families, we offer Extended Care and Vacation Care options for all Primary students. These programs provide a safe and engaging environment that extends beyond regular school hours and during school breaks, ensuring continuity in care and learning.

Summer Program
Khalsa Montessori School offers a Summer program, which runs for 8 weeks. There are 4 Summer Sessions that run for 2 weeks at a time. Summer Registration typically begins mid-March. Khalsa Montessori School also offers a Kindergarten Orientation Summer program, which runs concurrent to the Primary Summer program. Kindergarten Orientation is offered during 2 of the 4 Summer Sessions.
We welcome new and returning students for the summer. For new students, this is a very important time of transition. During the summer, they will learn important school guidelines and procedures. This will help them feel more confident and capable as their class starts in the fall. Even though it is summer, our younger friends still thrive on routine and consistency. Montessori materials are the focus of our work during the Kindergarten Orientation. There are also special units of cultural study throughout the 8 weeks.
The Kindergarten Orientation is exclusively for those who have been admitted to the Khalsa Montessori Charter School Kindergarten program for the 25-26 School Year.
The purpose of this Orientation is four-fold; to familiarize new and returning students with our school’s daily routines and expectations; second, to assess each student’s academic, social, and emotional level so that we can develop a plan that meets their unique needs; third, to prepare the children for leadership roles; finally, to ensure that students are well-prepared for the start of the academic year by introducing them to their teachers, school environment, and the advanced Montessori materials.
